Ottoline's London

Ottoline's Chintamani Pomegranate Fabric

London in December is a magical place full of holiday excitement. Yes, I have watched Love Actually way too many times to count AND I am also a Harry Potter nerd! But the holiday vibes in London can get even the grinchiest of folks in the spirit. I haven't visited London in way too long, so this year I am getting my holiday London fix from our pal (and fabulous textile designer) Ottoline Devries. Keep reading for a quick look at Ottoline's London.

Favorite bookstore?

Daunt Books, a very traditional bookshop on Marylebone High Street, which has a bit of village feel even though it is in the centre of London.

You have to grab lunch quickly, and you only have a bit of money to spend. What's your go to spot?

Gail's near my house in Hampstead. They do the best sausage rolls!

Best store to shop for holiday gifts for the friend who already has everything?

Liberty always has such a tempting and beautifully curated selection of things that would make the ideal gift.

Favorite London museum?

Victoria & Albert Museum, as it's such a good source of inspiration for fashion and design. Their patterns archive is so inspiring, and there always seems to be something new to discover.

Favorite garden or park to escape to when you want some peace and quiet?

Hampstead Heath. I love going there with my dog or swimming in the pond, rain or shine.

Weekend family activities that you and your kids enjoy?

Hockey matches — we are a very sporty family! Otherwise meeting up with friends around a lovely roast.

If you were to check into a London hotel for a 36-hour staycation, can you tell us where you'd stay and what your ideal plans would look like for this staycation?

The Hoxton Hotel in Holborn, which has such a nice vibe. The ground floor is always buzzing which is so energising. It's located in the Bloomsbury area which I love, the architecture there is wonderful, and it's also very central so you can enjoy all London has to offer.
