BROOK PERDIGON TEXTILES

“I love fall colors. Growing up in Florida and now living in California, I feel like fall colors are still really novel to me as I never really had them. Plus, I think all of the rusty reds, browns, and yellows are the perfect palette for a redhead. Cozy temperatures are nice too, always making things feel romantic. I love watching The Big Chill for southern fall romance vibes.”

MAZY PATH

“I know that fall has arrived when the mornings are cold, the afternoons are warm, and I hear the frequent call of blue jays. My favorite fall pastime is making apple cider in Vermont. We gather an assortment of tart and sweet apples at local apple orchards, wash the apples in a large aluminum tub, run them through the old wooden press that’s powered with a hand crank, and then drink the cider with homemade oatmeal cookies. Nothing tastes better!”

SALVESEN GRAHAM

“At this time of year, I think of the golden light of autumn, the rich rust tones of the leaves, and reaching for the simple comfort of a soft sweater as the days turn cooler.”

Nicole Salvesen

“There’s something endlessly appealing about a fire in autumn—whether it’s the soft crackle of logs indoors or the smoky scent of a bonfire in the garden. I’ve always found flames completely mesmerising. As a child, I decided I’d know I was grown up when I had a bonfire of my own!”

LAKE AUGUST

“Summer is gorgeous but I am always happy to move into fall and enjoy cool weather and a little bit of quiet. Where I live in the Pacific Northwest is like a fairy wonderland in the fall — I feel like Little Witch Hazel wandering through the forest and stopping every minute to collect leaves or look at a new mushroom. But if I'm completely honest with myself, I get most excited about fall cooking and all of the delicious comfort food. I just bookmarked a recipe for fire-roasted kabocha fondue with chanterelles in my copy of Rooted Kitchen.”
