Lake August’s textiles and wallpapers are created by Alexis Hartman. The natural world, primarily the landscape of her native California, is what inspires Alexis. Her designs are hand-drawn and traditionally printed, resulting in a collection with modern appeal that is rooted in the legacy of true craftsmanship. Patterns are translated from her paintings and hand-carved blocks into silkscreens and then printed onto linen and clay-coated paper.
